Handmade vintage Moroccan berber rug from the Beni Mguild tribe in the the middle Atlas mountains.
This berber wool rug has a diamond pattern with tribal symbols embedded in multiple layers of warm earthy shades of golden light brown, peach and pink highlighted with green, blue and white accents.
All our eco-friendly rugs are completely unique and you will not find another one like this in the world. These carpets were most often not made to sell but for home use and the pattern tells the personal life story of the woman who made the rug. The symbols express fertility, sexuality, survival, protection from evil, spiritual beliefs and the nature of rural and nomadic life in the Atlas mountains.
